“Abandon All Hope of Fruition” the saying comes from one of the most powerful teachings of Buddhism and is the title of Julie Mintz’s Album that is produced by her friend and coincidentally neighbor in Cali Moby.
Excitement flurried through the intimate crowd hosted by the Build All Access. Singer-song writer Julie Mintz and Moby are the first ones to participate in this new series. They both spoke candidly about LA, how Moby technically only allows one take when recording, and many other stories making us all feel like friends talking in someone’s living room.
Julie then starts to sing, wearing a long black sheer all over embroidered Badgley Mischka dress. Looking incredible and delicate, just like her voice. She is accompanied by a violinist, piano, and occasionally Moby on guitar spontaneously influencing the play list for the night.
The highlight was when Moby got Julie to sing a perfect cover song for her voice, Kansas “Dust in the Wind”. It was with some coaxing but once she got going it was as if it was written for her to sing.
Closing out the night the crowd even got involved. This time with another cover but one Moby encouraged us to participate singing with him and Julie, it was the trumpet part of Jonny Cashes “Ring of Fire”. and that was that the end!
